Apparently today is Waffle Day (along with August 24th which is celebrated in New York. Go figure.).
I happen to have a favorite waffle (pictured above) served at Darling’s Diner in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. It has just the right amount of crispness on the outside and fluffiness on the inside and is topped with a light coating of confectioners’ sugar. It’s superb! Oh! What’s that I see in the middle? Yes, it’s the Liberty Bell. So the next time you’re in Philly, go try this wonderful treat for breakfast anytime of the day. It helps that Darling’s is open 24 hours.

Last week was Come & See at the dance studio so I got to watch two of my daughters dance. They are both doing so well and perfecting their craft. However, I was super impressed with my little pumpkin.
In jazz class she worked hard at keeping up with her class although all of the children are older. Her teachers– all four of them. Have you ever tried teaching a room full of dancing little people????–are AMAZING and have the patience of Ghandi. I salute them.
Oh! During tap class, I was looking down at my phone and heard this rhythmic melody. It was my baby daughter shuffling across the floor. Wow!!!! I was in shock. Although she does her homework in her tap shoes and makes loads of noise when she can, I was in shock. My baby can tap!!! She’s no Harry Belafonte–yet but she is progressing. She’s a star but she had a great leader–her big sister.
Congrats to my big girl for her acceptance to the Philadelphia School for Creative and Performing Arts where she will attend next school year. Hard work pays off!!!

I caught wind of the new release at the breakfast table this morning. Thank God for teenagers–or not!!! While I applaud Beyonce’s talent & business sense, I am not impressed–completely.
Beyonce has “graced” us with her presence–yet again. While this video boasts her talent as an amazing visual artist, there is LOTS of controversial footage pertaining to her latest release.

This morning, as I was in my thoughts, I came across an old video from Tyler Perry. I know, I know. Many people have issues with Tyler Perry. (I have no clue as to why as I do not have an issue with him. I can say that I am not a supporter of those Madea movies because I do not enjoy that type of entertainment. That is my preference. PERIOD.) Anyway, this video was inspiring to me and I was also “lead” to share it in a natural hair group on Facebook that I have been appointed as an admin.
Then I saw this on Lori Hamann’s Facebook profile. With the following caption: ”You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.” Deepak Chopra

My heart warmed or maybe even stopped for a second as I sat and stared at this photo on Tumblr; I was in awe. My thoughts immediately drifted to talking to the love of my life under the dim light of dusk until the arrival of the chilled glimpses of dawn. A great start to my morning…as I look out of the window at the cascading snow and fill my soul with a warm cup of coffee.
